Hi

I am trying to find where this man and his wife were born. They married in the Reigate RD in 1910 Edward Albert Gibbs a Policeman and Annie Head I dont seem to be able to find them on the 1911 Census.

Have you looked on freebmd for births?  Only 2 likely candidates - 1882 and 1887

Have you looked for them on the 1939 register which should give full birthdate

The 1911 is free to search here but Rootschat do not allow 1911 lookups

mmn search on GRO online shows an Albert MacDonald Gibbs born March qtr 1911 - mmn Head.  He is easily found on the 1911 census

Many thanks for all that useful information. I have the wedding certificate of their daughter Nellie K Gibbs born 1913 that shows her father Edward Albert Gibbs as a Policeman so if i can find him on the 1911 census then I can find his birth.

He may not have been a policeman in 1911 and he is not with his wife in 1911.

You may have to buy a copy of the 1910 marriage cert to see what his occ was at that time/his age/fathers name

I think that could be Edward Albert Thomas Gibbs born about 1887 in Windlesham, Surrey.

Strangely I found that one, which claims to be single in the 1911 census so this may not be the one I am looking for as my Edward Albert married in 1910. Interestingly there is no sign of that E A T Gibbs on the freebmd site ?

Yes I have it in front of me now Edward Albert Gibbs Policeman  the wedding took place in 1942 in Sutton so he was still alive then.

That Edward (E A T) married in 1912 to Emily Church and was still with her before WW2
