Post by: grandarog on Thursday 26 October 17 10:14 BST (UK)
Please, Please............
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find where held if they exist the records of inquests for the Medway Rochester Maidstone area Coroners office for the years 1831 and 1832.
I have had no luck searching  so far.
                                                          Thanks . Roger.

Only a couple of days ago, I was trying to find out how to obtain an 1855 coroner's report relating to a relative in Margate. The local coroner was in Dover.

A conversation with the archivist at the Margate Museum a couple of weeks ago indicated that many local records are now held at the Kent History and Library Centre in Maidstone.

I'm going to contact them when I get a chance. If you fancy having a go, I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

Afterthought: of course, you might already have done this. Would be good to hear about any experiences.

Thanks for your help Folks, :)

Sorry I should have said ..I had checked with City Ark Medway Archives and Kent History and Libraries.also A2A Gov.archives

I couldn't think of anywhere else to look that,s why I posted the request . I still live in hope as usual.

Does anyone know of local Newspapers that were around at that time that might have covered inquests?

I became aware of the coroner's report after I'd ordered a death certificate. With further information to hand, I was able to use the newspaper search at Findmypast to uncover something in the Kentish Independent, which I hadn't found in previous searches. The story was specifically reporting on the inquest and not just the event that prompted it.
