Hi, the attached is of my Father, George Henry Jones, and his sister Sylvia Gladys, and was taken in Evesham, Worcestershire in 1915/16. As you can see, it is in a terrible condition, is it possible for it to be restored?

a try

Hi Bobbie and welcome to Rootschat. An attempt from me too.

Wow! That's really good. Thank you so much - I need to post it on my family tree now

Love that one Carol, I know how difficult it was to do, I have scrapped two versions, I can't match yours though.

Glad you are pleased with the work...It is always best, where possible to scan photos at a minimum resolution of 300dpi...this was scanned at a very low 72dpi and this makes our job much harder as there is less detail to work with.

Thanks for the feedback Pat, it's very much appreciated but you must always post your work as I'm sure it would have been better than you think. The low resolution did make it harder though.
Good job on a tough photo Andy :D

Cheers Carol, it was a tough one wasn't it :o.... ;D

Thanks for the info -I didn't realise the resolution was so low. I shall scan it at a higher resolution and repost - maybe you can have another go at it? I have quite a few old photos that need work so I shall get busy and scan them at a higher resolution, should keep me out of mischief for a while!

I won't be having another go at this one as I spent over two and a half hours on it and it was hard on the eyes and i gave it my best shot...but others may take it on. But worth noting for any photos that you post in the future.

My try.

Thanks to everyone who has given their time to restore this photograph - the results are truly amazing, considering the low resolution of the photograph! In future I shall ensure that I only post photos of high resolution.
