Hello--
I have several certificates for births and deaths that say "Bontyberem, Llangendeirne".
I had thought they lived at Pontyberem. Can someone tell me about Bontyberem??
Thank you.

Hi
I think they are the same. Certain first letters in Welsh can mutate. For example, P can become B. This is usually determined (with my limited knowledge) by the context in which the word is used and what precedes it. There as no context as such here, so here it probably just reflects the transcribers preference or way of pronouncing P/Bontyberem
Some please feel to correct me if I am wrong!

Bontyberem is Pontyberem. The first letter has mutated from p to b. Pontyberem was part of Llangendeirne until 1919.
