Edit:
I'm good now.
Thanks CaroleW.

I will be seeking info on the birth parents:
William 1882 Marrianne 1878
No hurry.

William Chell married Marianne Thursfield Congleton district, Cheshire Jun qtr 1903
-
That was quick, thank you.
Two questions:
Where did you get that?
qtr?
-
I will be seeking info on the birth parents:
Have you looked them up on the 1911 census to establish birthyears/birthplaces plus details of any other children born between 1903-1911?
Once you get that info you can research backwards using freebmd and FS
www.freebmd.org.uk

EDIT
Marriage info above is on freebmd
-
Per www.cheshirebmd.org.uk - marriage was at St James Congleton
The full 1911 entry is available on Family Search

Very nice Carole, that's the kind of helping hand I was looking for.
I had tried the census but either there was nothing or I was clumsy.
I can probably take it from what you have given me.
Bessie's my mother.
One sibling, Joseph, a couple years older.
Emigrated to Canada about 1910-12 with William first, then sending for the family once he had acquired a horse and built a tent in the wild west.

You are absolutely correct and the moment your email popped up I was on that very page. I know for certain that is home because of the name Brookshaw. My mom corresponded with a Lillie Brookshaw all her life.
I won't go too far with this because it could become obsessive and all I really want to do is visit the Hare and Hounds and see the place where my grandparents, William and Marianne, grew up.
Thank you Carole.
Tim.

If you have access to FindMyPast, the marriage entry for William and Marianne is available to view. Both fathers are deceased, and one of the witnesses is Grace Thursfield.

Thanks BumbleB.
I have gained pretty much what I sought and while a little more would be nice the cost isn't justified; at this point.
