Would anyone with a "Forces War Records" membership be willing to take a look at what they have for Sapper Christopher Hetherington R.E. (Corps No.25612) there is a record dated 1919. He was still enlisted then and possibly still being treated for the eye wound he received Oct 1, 1917.
Some idea of what is in the record would be brilliant.
Happy hunting

There are several threads on RootsChat pertaining to Forces War Records! None good!
Apparently most, if not all, of their records can be found elsewhere?
Both Ancestry and FindMyPast have free access to War Records this weekend.
So might be worth a look?

I don't use Forces War Records - they don't have a very good reputation . The record they have is the entry from the Silver War Badge List. This is available on Ancestry which has free access for War Records this weekend as has been said.

Thank you both, that does decide it for me. I'm hoping for more details of his medical treatment (did he get sent to Birmingham meaning he probably did pinch the book I have in my possession clearly stamped BirminghaM Eye Hospital), but if they are being loose with the use of medical...
Again thank you

I'm afraid you won't find any details such as you mention in the record. It will give you Regimental Number , Rank , Name , Unit , Badge Number , Enlistment & Discharge Dates and Cause of Discharge.

That was "decide it" as in not paying out any money.
