Can anyone make sense of the address of the informant on this 1849 death certificate please?
The deceased is Gwenllian Davies, 68, of Village, Aberdare, widow of Thomas Davies, Collier. I think Thomas may have died in March 1841.
I'm trying to trace the family of James Davis/Davies who died aged 35 in February the same year and think this may be his mother, which potentially could make Morgan Davies a brother or uncle to James - if only I could locate him!

Thank you!
I still can't find him, but I'll try following a few possibilities and hopefully find a child born there.
Unfortunately because James died before the 1851 census I've no idea where he - and therefore possibly Morgan - were born, other than 'Glamorgan', so I think this is going to be a long & expensive search!

I think I need to give myself a good slap! Yes, that's the family I was looking at but I was so distracted by the family on the other side, who I think may be related by marriage, that I didn't notice Morgan the Tailor :-[
I'm more confused than ever now though as I'd found an 1851 Merthyr census for Morgan Davies aged 36 & born Aberdare, but he was a collier. Living with him was a brother, Elias aged 31, and I see the Morgan you mention has a son named Elias. HO107/2459/91/20
I'd also found an 1852 marriage for Ann Davies aged 21 with a father named as Morgan, but he was also collier. Her address looked to me like Twynyrodyn - what do you think?

Maybe no connection, just a neighbor in 1841 as still in Aberdare 1851 with all children up to 1851 b Aberdare.

Lots to investigate!
Hopefully I can confirm or eliminate the 1851 family in Merthyr via a marriage certificate or two, and the Christmas list will include several items from the Glamorgan FHS ;D
