Title: Vigars Yard, Gosport
Post by: JosiahS on Tuesday 14 November 17 11:46 GMT (UK)
Hello there
I'm researching a chap who lived in Vigars Yard in Gosport
I can find a reference to its being cleaned up in 2007 in the minutes of the local council so it still exists but I can't find it on any map. It is referred to as an alley running off the High Street.
Could someone with local knowledge please tell me where abouts of the High Street it lies and if there are any photographs showing what it looks like?
Many thanks
Ashley

I found this quote in a Gosport document dated 2006:

The other alleyways to be included in the proposed works are adjacent to Oxfam to the north of the High Street (‘Vigars Yard’), and either side of the former India Arms on the south side, (‘Carters Yard’ to the East, and ‘India Arms Yard’ to the west).

A google search reveals that the Oxfam shop is (or was?) at 48 High Street.
