Here is the link to all the areas covered by that RD.
You need to establish her address at the time of death

Hi Carol,
Thanks for your email but I don't have a subscription to Ancestry and I don't have a clue where in Surrey the family lived in.
England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007
ENGLAND AND WALES, BIRTH, MARRIAGE AND DEATH INDEXES, 1837-2005
NAME: Rose Douglas
BIRTH: year
DEATH: dd mm 1966 - city, Surrey, England
This seems to be her in Ancestry
Thanks for all your help

Hi
An Ancestry sub will not help with this type of query. She could be buried in any one of the many places listed under the Surrey Mid East reg district. To narrow it down you need to buy a copy of her death certificate to find where exactly she died
-
Have you got her DOB or marriage details?
-
Hi all,
Rose Douglas was Rose Connor born 28 Oct 1886 in Ireland and married in Ireland 23 Feb 1914 once her husband died the rest of the family went to Surrey England to live.
Thanks for all your help

So this is her..
Rose Connor. Birth, Oct - Dec 1886, Magherafelt, Ireland.
Rose Connor. Marriage, Patrick Douglas, Jan - Mar 1914, Magherafelt, Ireland.
Do you know in what year the family came to England?
-
Birth and marriage of Rose...
-
Hi Solidrock,
yes this is Roses birth and marriage so just now need to find her in England. I will look to see if I can find her husbands death as the whole family left when the husband/father died.
Thanks for all your help

Any possibility she is buried with her husband in Ireland? Her children may have arranged to have her body taken back home
-
I can't seem to find a record of his death if he was born in 1884. If he died naturally I would assume it would be in the Londonderry area but he may have died during the war.
-
This maybe his birth...
Patrick Douglas. b 31 March 1884 Lurgan, Portadown. father Archibald (Tailor), mother Mary, mn Smith.
-
Hi all,
Rose is definitely buried in England and her husband is buried back in Draperstown Magherafelt.
Patrick's father was James Douglas. Patrick was born on the 16 September 1882.
Hope this helps
Kieran
-
that helps a bit, his age was wrong on the marriage record.
Patrick Douglas. b 1882, Draperstown Magherafelt Derry.
father James (labourer), mother Bridget (nee Rowan)
James and Bridget married in 1877, Magherafelt .
Found the births of most of their children between 1914 and 1919, can't find Thomas or John. Assuming that they all came to England as you said it must have been before the 1940's as all the children would have been adults after that.
-
Have you looked for the family on the 1939 register :-\
-
Looked at the 1939 could'nt find them, not even Rose alone.
-
Hi Solidrock,
I have asked at home and they now think the family might of moved in the 60s or 70's.
I will look at Christmas to see if I can find a headstone
Thanks very much for all your help

Have a look where :-\ Do you know roughly where they were living
-
You said that Patrick is buried in Draperstown Magherafelt, do you know when he died? I have looked at the records for Draperstown and Magherafelt but I can't find his death.

Irish Genealogy only has death certificates up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties. For more recent dates you can search GRONI's database.

Unlikely Rose moved to England in the 70's if she died in 1966. Are you sure thats the right death?
-
Hi Kieran
Each borough or council in Surrey is responsible for their own cemeteries.
The Surrey Mid E area is quite large and she could be buried anywhere which is why you need the death cert for her home address or speak with someone in the family who knows.

There are very few municipal cemetery records online so you'll need to identify the nearest cemetery to the home address and work around each area until you find her.
Please note that some authorities charge you for doing look-ups.

In Waverley all but two of the cemeteries are run by the (Civil) Parish or Town Councils. In Guildford and Surrey Heath some are managed by the parish council and some by the District council. In other district council areas the balance is different.
West Surrey Family History Society is compiling a list of all the cemeteries, churchyards and places of worship in the Ancient County of Surrey. The index is at
http://surreycemeteries.org.uk/
You can also browse by Ancient Parish and by (current) local government areas
Obviously this is work in progress.
