Johanna Williams age 30
Supposed to be in labour children in Workhouse

26 Feb 1848
Johannah Williams age 30 address 10 Paul St
children Mary 7, John 3, Danl 2mths
Husband absconded
remarks Advertise Husband


Johanna's husband's name was William WIlliams.

How would the Workhouse do this - Police Gazette or other means? Just hoped I might get a description.

He obviously came back as there were further children born in 1850, 1851 & 1853.

Thanks for the steer, Guy. Sadly not yet any results from a newspaper archive search for the early 1850s but with a name like William Williams  ::). Perhaps he came back before an advertisement was placed.
