Title: Smith, Horne, Webb or Thornton Lady - Hat/Dress fashion for dating please
Post by: Lily M on Sunday 19 November 17 12:41 GMT (UK)
This copy was sent to me by a family member.  Apparently, the back is completely blank.

Can someone please help me to narrow down the possibilities of who it might be by giving an approximate date for the photo.  To me, the hat and the dress seem to be from different eras.

Incase it helps, whoever it is, she would have lived in London and had little money.

Thank you.

I am inclined towards it being Edwardian but not sure without seeing the whole photo and the back.

Thank you Carol.  Unfortunately, this is all I have.  I'm guessing she's about 20 years old, so Edwardian could make her my grandad's sister who was born 1882.

Thought she deserved a makeover. Hope you don't mind.  :)
Cheers, Peter.

Thank you Peter. I don't mind at all.  The details of the dress show up much clearer now, and you've made her look prettier.

If only I knew for sure who she was.
