My great grandparents went to USA believed to reside in Portsmouth Rockingham New Hampshire in 1886. Daniel Galvin Wife Catherine (Kate) Children Michael b.1874, Elizabeth b. 1875, Ellen b 1878, Daniel b 1881, Robert b 1884. Cannot locate Passenger Record.
They returned to Ireland c. 1896 & appear in 1901 Census in Kinneigh Cork.
Daniel a.59, Kate 60, Michael 27, Ellen 23, Daniel 20, Robert 15 (Elizabeth b. 1875) remained in USA & married there to Winckley she had 1 daughter Nellie Winckley & Elizabeth died in childbirth.
I would like to source a Ship record for the family going to USA & their return.
Also the son Robert b. 1884 appears in Ireland 1901 & 1911 Censuses but I cannot locate a death for him in Irish Civil records so I am thinking maybe he returned to USA.
Any help appreciated. Thank you

It appears they arrived in Boston 22 Apr 1889 aboard the Steamship Pavonia.

Thank you Ray - Son Michael & daughter Ellen not with them. I know my grandmother Ellen stayed but is on 1901 Census along with Michael her brother in Ireland. They must have returned to Ireland between 1896 & 1901

Thanks again Ray. Any sign of Robert returning to USA after 1911 there is no Civil death reg for him here in Ireland. Also my ggrandmother Catherine was married previously to a Daniel Crowley d.1870 she had maybe 4 Crowley children who were based in Rockingham New Hampshire so a possibility Robert may have returned there only an assumption. :)

John Crowley 1865 - 1940: Robert not with him 1920
Both Annie and John in Rockingham
Catherine Crowley (married a Cornelius Murphy) 1868 - gives a death in Rockingham no date. Robert not with them on 1920 census.
Mary Crowley no date of birth or death but says died Ireland
Florence Crowley no birth date but died 1897 Cork.

Wondered if Robert could be mentioned in any obits or funeral notices but not this one for John Crowley - 1940
The Portsmouth NH Herald - 12 December 1940
The funeral of John Crowley who died last Saturday evening was held this morning from his late home 251 Woodbury Avenue. A high mass of requiem was celebrated in the Church of Immaculate Conception at 9 O'clock by Rev Francis J Crowley in the presence of a large congregation of relatives and friends. Music for the mass was sung by the requiem choir. Interment was made in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery where Father Crowley recited the committal prayers. The bearers were James R McNeil, Dennis J Driscoll, Thomas J Condon, Patrick J Duffy, David P Hartnett and John Hartnett.

Thank you Rayden & Sandra and to save you any unnecessary research I think my sister has the Crowleys in New Hampshire covered.
Sandra, I dont have an obituary for ggrandmother Kate all I know is she died in 1913. Roberts birth date 1st July 1884 Reg District Dunmanway Co Cork. Father Daniel Gallivan Mother Catherine Hartnett. Katie Crowley Step sister present. Robert is not registered for death in Ireland after 1911 so my thoughts were that he may have returned to USA.
