Title: GREENOCK - BURIAL - Norman Campbell Anderson

Hello,
I'm trying to locate the burial site of my great grandad Norman Campbell Anderson who was living in Greenock when he died on 1941. I'm wondering if he was buried in the Greenock Cemetery. Is there a lookup available?
Any help greatly appreciated!

Neil,  try the archive of the Greenock Telegraph online at the Watt Library.

Contact the Greenock Cemetery, they have always been excellent in checking things for me.

Thanks everyone. I made contact with Greenock cemetery but they were unable to find him. I tried to find a working link for the Watt Library but every link I found was broken. Apparently the Watt Library is closed until 2019 for refurbishment. Does anyone know another way to access the Greenock Telegraph online?

Hi,

If you google Inverclyde Heritage Hub, it now has the Watt Library BDM, but they only go up to 1915ish, if you call the following number at the hub, they may be able to go through the 1941 Telegraphs and see if there is a death notice.  tel:01475 715628

Cremation
Dec 1941 • Western Necropolis, Glasgow Crematorium, 19 Tresta Rd, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland
Norman Anderson, aged 58, of 80 Union Street, Greenock, head postmaster of Greenock and Port Glasgow, was cremated at Glasgow Crematorium, Western Necropolis.
