I would be grateful if anyone can date this wedding picture please. Found unlabelled in documents of Ellen Williams formerly Watkins nee Rackley 1918 - 2017.

I would GUESS the 1920's but the experts will soon give you the proper answer!

I agree with with 1920s.

I say 1920s as well.

Isn't it nice to see a lovely picture of a happy looking couple! :) :)

They do look as though they are enjoying themselves too, don't they? No poses for the camera.
OK 20s is what I thought - need to look for possible candidates now, there maybe labelled pics of the couple later in life which I can compare.
Thanks all, Josey

I've got photographs of 2 of my aunts in very similar wedding dresses and head wear. One married in 1925 and the other in 1928.
-
That's helpful; thank you Lizzie.
ADDED: Could it be as late as Sep 1930? Possibly wedding of pic owner's brother Frank Williams Rackley [transcribed as Rockley] to Elsie Clements
Marriages Sep 1930
Clements Elsie V F Rockley Bristol 6a 216
Rockley Frank W Clements Bristol 6a 216
ADDED AGAIN: Probably not as I found this pic of that couple later & Elsie is much shorter than Frank

Quite easily Josey...wedding dresses were often borrowed...I have photos two relatives wearing the same wedding dress 3 years apart ;D

;D ;D.
What do you think about the couple I have suggested - do you think it could be that same people? Thanks.
-
The woman is wearing slippers in the 2nd picture which would have a flat heel, the wedding shoes could have heels.
-
Agree with the date around mid 20's. Her headdress is typical of the early-mid 20's & skirts went up before coming down late decade.
Not the same couple as the height difference is too great even with heels.

Good point medpat & thanks very much Jim. I agree not the same couple.
