In 1935 Mary F Moule married Ernest E Symonds in Cambridge. In 1939 Ernest and Mary were living in Histon (nr Cambridge). Mary's birth was given as 14th May 1910.
There is a death record of May Florence Symonds 1910 - 1987 in Cambridge.
Can anyone see her birth details and/or her parents?
-
Can't see a birth with that spelling - I suppose she could have been a widow in 1935 :-\
Did they have any children to confirm her maiden name?
-
There is a Florence May Moule born Huntingdon 1910 daughter of Thomas and Florence.
Seems to be under Monle on the GRO index mothers name Key
Marriage 1902 Huntingdon
Thomas Moule
Florence Key
Not sure if on the right track or not but there are siblings for May if you need them :)
-
Hi
Thank you for looking.
The siblings would be nice ...... also did Mary & Ernest have just one child, Terence 1936?

James William 1903
Ernest Stafford 1904
John 1906
Miriam 1908
Possible half brother Tom 1899
Can only see the one.
Not 100% certain Mary F is Florence May so treat with caution.
The marriage to Ernest Symonds would confirm the name of her father.
-
Father Thomas Moule has been married before - he is a widower in 1901 - marriage 1897 Minnie Balmer
1901
Thomas Moule 35
Alice Balmer 13
Ernest Balmer 8
Emma Balmer 6
Tom Moule 2
So that would seem the Balmer children were not his but Minnie had been married before and the 2 year Tom was theirs together.
Death for Minnie Moule 1901 age 31

Thanks again. Still no closer to sorting M F Moule, although your Florence May Moule 1910 looks a good bet ....... interesting all the same.
I think Alice was possibly Minie's sister. see '81 and '91 census. I can only guess that Ernest 1893, and Emma 1895, were from the 'wrong side of the sheets'. maybe Thomas was the father. !!!!

Hmmm not so sure Alice was a sister to Minnie. Birth for Alice Maud Balmer Jun 1889 gives no mothers name so whilst she is down as a daughter along with Minnie in 1891 I wouldn't rule out the possibility she was her daughter. Plus Catherine the mother of Minnie is 56.
See what you mean about the sheets :-X
Emma Louise Mar 1895 has no mothers name.
Ernest Sep 1892 also no mothers name.
-
WW1 pension record for Ernest names sisters Alice and Emily.

May Florence MOULE and Ernest Edward SYMONDS were married 5 Oct 1935 at Swavesey, Cambridgeshire but her residence was said to be Huntingdon.
Their fathers were William MOULE and William SYMONDS.
William MOULE was listed as a bricklayer and deceased.
I hope that this helps.
-
Yes that does help as the Florence May I found had a father Thomas although he too was a bricklayer :-[
Thomas did have a brother William but he is single, not a bricklayer and dies after 1935 so can't be him.
Back to the drawing board :(

Shame he didn't mention Florence, but confirms that Alice was most probably Minie's daughter. Complicated family !!
