Hi all, looking for some help deciphering the name of the Polish town given in this ship manifest. I'm looking at the second-to-last line with the town starting with the letter "C" next to "Philada Pa" (this person was coming from Poland to Philadelphia).
I believe that he was from somewhere within Mazowieckie. I see something like "Cieclozinck" but I'm not finding any sort of town or parish that looks like that in the province on geneteka.

Now that you mention it, I like the "h" over "l" much more. There's a town Ciechocinek in Kujawsko-pomorskie which might fit a little more. On some of the early PA census forms, Polish families often listed the region that they were from. This family listed "Warszaw" although the wife was from Mlawa. Ciechocinek is much closer to Warszaw than Ciechanowiec, which would probably be listed as Lomza on the same census forms.
I'll look around for some parish records around this area, thank you!

Indeed it was, found the birth I was looking for. This fellow seems to be from the parish Raciążek just outside of Ciechocinek. Thanks for the help! ;D

Yes tonepad, that does look a better match with the k at the end but I wasn't sure as it's not in the area rlw245 was expecting. I posted Ciechanowiec as it is in the Mazowieckie area.
It's worth checking both possibilities.
