I'm wondering if anyone could help me find a death for an ancestor?
Eleanor Bertha Tandy is born 1867, in Hawkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.
She comes to the United States through New York in 1889, on the ship Adriatic. A generation previously, her uncle James Tandy had also come to the US, living in Flint, Genesee, Michigan, which is where Eleanor winds up. In 1905 she marries a David Goodall in Flint. Both claim to be single although familysearch shows a previous marriage for David to a Jessie Rathbun in 1897 in Michigan.
I have found Eleanor, now using the name of Bertha, and David together in the 1910 US census, in Flint, as Goodale. There are a couple of possibles for David in later censuses, but no sign of Eleanor/Bertha.
I'm afraid I've no idea whether she died in America, back in England or anywhere else in the world, but America seems a reasonable place to start.
Thank you
Lisa

I've just found a widowed Bertha in the 1940 census, head of family, together with Dorothy Coles and Walter Coles, presume this is daughter Dorothy and her husband.

Bertha Goodall is with married daughter Dorothy and son in law
Bertha down as 68 and widowed
Not found a death yet but she is still in the US.

I may possibly have found her death, on FS, although age is a bit off, and birthplace wrong - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KFSV-QD7

I think that must be her well done.
Spouse is down as David Goodall which fits.

There are some Flint newspaper archives on a subscription site, but you can see snippets with free searches if you scroll around. Searching for these people's names, it looks like David & Jessie were finally divorced right before David & Bertha married. http://www.rootschat.com/links/01l33/
