Title: Mustard Gas 'Guinea Pigs"
Post by: iwccc on Saturday 25 November 17 12:03 GMT (UK)
Hello, I am trying to find out about  my uncle  involvement  as a guinea pig for the mustard gas experiments in WW2 (November 1944) at Innisfail.
Is there a list of soldiers who took part in these experiments?  When was the information shared with the general public as I believe it was all done in secrecy.  Are there any photos etc.?  Thank you

Well, well, my father had a patent for improvements to self sealing fuel tanks for RAF aircraft in March 1942. At the same time another patent for self sealing battle dress against mustard gas even if holed.

Thanks Treetotal, Very interesting.  I was told that my uncle's experience was in November, 1944, so far I haven't found anything matching this date.  I appreciate your input.

Hi Regorian,  I'm sure there are many untold or little told stories about the mustard gas guinea pigs.  Just trying to match an event with my uncle - so far haven't found a matching date/event.
Your father must have been 'quite a man'.  Thanks again
