hello
I am following the wooldridge familly tree and have reached Thomas Wooldridge (woolrich) of Penkridge who died in 1727 but have now hit the wall. I would be grateful for any information helping me to climb over
thank you

His burial is on FreeReg, its likely you might find other records for him, as there are some likely baptisms for that name in the county.

Hi Octaviusdance,
I'm also researching Wool(d)ridge in the Penkridge area, but it's a bit later than your research.
My GGGGF is also a Thomas Woolridge, his father was Jonas and mother Mary.

Thomas Wooldridge of Dunston Heath buried 29th October 1727. St Micheal & All Angels, Penkridge
Mary Wooldridge wife of Thomas Wooldridge buried 30th December 1727.

Maybe there are different Wooldridges for I have Thomas Wooldridge of Dunstone Heath in the Parish of Penkridge who died on October 22nd and who's wife was definitely named Margaret. His Sons were Jonah, Thomas, John, and William.
22nd could be the date of death and 29th the burial date so perhaps it is the same one but where does the name Mary come from? What is the evidence of a link from Mary to Thomas?
Best wishes

There seems to be a few Thomas and Jonas Wooldridges. I'll have a double check, my family were in Dunston Heath for several censuses.

Hi
I have found (freereg) A marriage of Margaret Wooldridge to Daniel Elliot 3 April 1834 which could be Margaret remarring after the death of Thomas. But there is no direct link other than St. Michael and All Angels unless I can find more about the witnesses Sarah Wooldridge and William Adams
Best Wishes

Hi Julia,
I've reached a brickwall with my Wooldridges (sometimes Woolridge).
It looks as though my Thomas was born in Ranton/Haughton in 1805 and is in the Penkridge/Dunston area according to the 1841 census onwards.
I believe his parents to be Jonas (sometimes Jonah) and Mary and I think his sibling was Margaret born 1807 also Ranton, but am struggling beyond this.

Hi
I think that there may be a link between your tree and mine somewhere for the names Thomas, Mary, margaret and above all Jonah/Jonas seem like family names.
My tree only involves wooldridges from Ann 1744-1818 back further in time. Ann married Edward Wetton and one of their children was named Jonah others were Mary and Thomas
I think a link is likely but cannot help, I have no further information about Wooldridges younger
than ANN
Best wishes and good luck
