Any idea what this cap is- poss not even military, could be a work uniform but just found and have no idea.
It's my Grandad Thomas O'Grady (who was in the Irish Republican Army) born on 8 March 1902 in Wicklow, his father, Edward, was 35 and his mother, Sarah, was 30. He married Christina Catherine Keogh on 10 December 1925 in Dublin. They had four children during their marriage. He left Eire for New York Sailing on Levithian from Southampton 20 Apr 1929

Would the Dublin and Lucan Electric Railway Co. fit where he came from?
Definitely not military.

Brilliant .. It fits !!!
“Would the Dublin and Lucan Electric Railway fit”
‘Lucan and Leixlip Electric Railway’
Matches the text on cap ‘& LEPCo’Perfectly
Seems likely a short lived job, have just read about liquidation and mergers .. but still some news to all the family :-)
Thanks

Good morning,
The lettering on the cap is definately "& LER Co" so this would be the Dublin & Lucan Electric Railway as MaxD said.
D & LER Co went into liquidation in 1925, it was purchased along with L & LER Co by the Dublin United Transport Co in 1927.
So the picture has to be from between 1900 & 1925 when D & LER was running, L & LER was leased to them.
