Hi All,
I'm using FTM 2014 and am trying to put in a couple of relatives who died during WW1 in Belgium. I have tried to put in the place of death for one as Ypres and the other as Wytschaete, both of which are perfectly valid towns, correctly spelt, but FTM won't recognise them. I've even tried putting Leper instead of Ypres but it won't recognise either.
I've also tried putting them in Ancestry thinking I'll see how they record them and I'll copy that - no luck. It's as if the places don't exist.
Does anyone know how I can add them and no have that unresolved place name warning next to them?
Is there a sort of custom dictionary for place names I can add them to?
Thanks for the help,
Michael

It appears to accept - Ieper - West-Vlaanderen, Belgium - at least 2012 does. For Wytschaete, I just typed in the place of death as Wytschaete, Belgium in FTM.

Thanks for the reply, I've just tried both but had no luck with either.

Just a thought - you are using "capital i at the beginning of Ieper - I see you used L in your post. :-\

Ahhhh!
That would explain one of them, thank you so much.
I'll go and sit in the corner quietly and study my new book - spolling for begooners.

The correct (Flemish) spelling of Wytschaete is Wijtschate ;D

Once again, thank you.
I think I need a new dicshunary.
