Title: Duncan MCDOUGALL

Wonder if anyone can tell me is this likely to be relating to a will or any other kind of record liable to confirm his death or even if it is the same person as my master mariner of the same name

Hi there

The best source of info for BMDs and wills is www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

However, I cannot easily see a death entry for him in 1857 in Argyll or a will entry. Have a look, it is free to search and look at initial results.

He could have died at sea? Also, maybe the actual death didn't take place in Argyll. There are some deaths showing on SP for Duncan McDougalls in 1857. Some entries include a mother's maiden name which might help.

Apologies, Amanda. I can see from your other posts that you are very familiar with SP  ::)

Nothing obvious then for him  :-\
