Title: Trying to trace kindertransport refugees

Hello everyone

I wondered if anyone knows about where would be best to look for records of kindertransport refugees in the UK? I've recently discovered that my great-grandparents took a pair of Jewish (we think Czech) children fleeing the Nazis. They were on the last train to get through. My family could remember their first names but not the surname. Do any records exist documenting such children? I was also wondering if the FindMyPast 1939 register might be able to shed any light?

It could well help as Kindertransport took place during the nine months prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. So if you can find your great grandparents on that, it may well show the children. However, records of people born after 1917 are redacted unless it is known that they have died. I suspect that in the case of children who arrived from Europe as refugees and who may have gone back after the war, that their names will still be blacked out. It's worth a look though.
