Title: Marriage lookup St James Bristol 1823
Post by: goldie61 on Friday 08 December 17 02:33 GMT (UK)
Thomas Evans married Hannah Cox 21 Oct 1823 at St James, Bristol.
There only seem to be transcriptions on FindMyPast and Ancestry.
If anyone knows where I can see the image, that would be great; or can do a look up to see if there are any parishes etc given.
Many thanks

Hello Goldie61,
i have an Elizabeth Cox born circa 1813 in Shirehampton. Her mother was Ann Cox and both their occupation were Laundress. Elizabeth married George Gilbert in 1845 in Shirehampton.
Any connection?

Cheers

No Bristol parish record images are online as far as I know. A visit to Bristol RO would be necessary, although for a charge, they will make an image and send it to you,

Thanks Steve. That was my findings too. I wonder when (if) Bristol records will come on-line. Seems a large amount of records for one of the main sites not to have done.

It doesn't sound like your Elizabeth is the same family Jack.
If I have the right person, my Hannah Cox came from Beverstone, born about 1803, and that was her maiden name - she married the Thomas Evans, so was Hannah Evans when having children.

I was told by one of the staff at Bristol that there had been a project for the LDS film the registers but that, for some reason it had fallen through. They were under the impression that the images existed but negotiations were taking place for another site (Ancestry/FindMyPast?) to take them on board. This was well over a year ago and I've heard nothing since. Perhaps it was all incorrect. If someone is going to Bristol soon, that might ask
