I am looking for information on the Nicholson family who lived in Mooncoin, County Kilkenny in the 1870's and 1880's. The parents were Robert Nicholson 1840-1895 and Mary Foley 1841-1919. My grandmother, Johanna, moved to London in the 1890's, but I have been unable to find any information about the other children. They were named Alice, Bridget, Catherine, Margaret, Mary, Robert and William. The boys may have moved to Wales to work in the steelworks, and some of the girls may have come to England. I would be grateful for any information. Thanks :)

Do you have Johanna in 1901?
Are there any family witnesses to her marriage?

Thanks for all the replies. Anecdotally, Robert plastered the new church in Mooncoin, but was never paid by the church authorities. Not sure exactly what the cause of death was on the record, but seems like he died of pulmonary tuberculosis. I have heard that TB was common then, due to people drinking unpastuerised milk, and wonder whether that was the fate of some of his children

Found some more information on William Nicholson. He died in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales in September 1958 aged 66. I believe he had previously been employed as a steel worker. He may have had two daughters named Alice and Maisie
