Hi,
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction to find Alfred Jones.
I know only the following information,
Alfred Jones married Mabel Harvey 1914 W.Bromwich, I have ordered the marriage certificate but growing a lil impatient to find out which Alfred he is.

A quick search on the free Index to the 1911 census on FindMyPast, shows 145 Alfred Jones in West Bromwich! :o
You're going to need all the clues from the Marriage certificate - age, address, occupation, father's name & occupation.

I have received his marriage cert and have now the following info...
Married January 24th, 1914 at West Bromwich, Registry Office
Alfred Jones 23 years, Core Maker, 41 Broadwell Road, father Thomas Jones, Works Laborer
Mabel Harvey 23 years, Dressmaker, 4 Trinity Street, father Henry Harvey, Brewer
witnesses...Henry Harvey and Mary Jones.
Anyone like to help me confirm the right family for Alfred?

Unhelpfully the address he's given on marriage has no census return in 1911, May have found him, by his occupation, but he's working away from home

Possible for them in 1901. RG13 / 2716 / 155 / 19
Thomas Jones, head, b. 1849 Oswestry, Labourer builders
Mary Jones, wife, b. 1856 Oldbury
Alfred Jones, son, b. 1891 Oldbury
Plus 5 other siblings, the older ones having the occupation of Moulder (similar occupation to Alfred on his marriage cert)
We can't give details of the 1911, but this family (minus Alfred, who is possibly working away, as Mabel found) are living in the same road but not the same house number as Alfred stated on his marriage cert.

IF this turns out to be the correct family, there is a clue in the 1901. Living with the family is Alfred Arnold (Brother in law to the head - Mary's brother)
The GRO index shows a birth of Alfred Jones (mother's maiden name Arnold) Sep Q 1890 West Bromwich 6b 771.
FreeBMD has a marriage of Thomas Jones & Mary Ann Arnold on the same page Dec Q 1875 West Bromwich 6b 1212.
BUT, with a name like Jones it's difficult to be sure.
