Hello All,
I have received the marriage record for Rees Thomas and Frances Walley, married at St Pauls in Bristol.
The conversation about this is here:

I am unable to read the name of the first witness. The second witness is Ann Walley, who is a younger sister to Frances. I hope some one can decipher the first name.
Thank You
Jean

Looks to be David Roberts.

Hi Jean
Is there any chance of a bigger scan, please. It could be David or Dinah and having been involved on the other thread, it could be another Dinah.
Gadget
Added - I've tried to zoom in and I think it is David but it's very blurry so the v could be an n and the last letter is incomplete :-\

Thank you horselydown86,
That is the same answer that I have been given on the other thread.
I was so hoping that it would be Dinah.
Regards
Jean

Sorry but I agree with HD and Gadget . . . Can't see it being Dinah.
Seems it was more usual to have a male and female witness signing at marriages, so I suppose that is worth considering.

David for me.
I can see the d as the last letter.

Hello All,
I would give you another copy of the signature, but for the third time I have received an error message saying that another file with the same name has been uploaded. I am running out of names and patience. Perhaps I will think of a fourth name for the file tomorrow.
In the meantime, it looks like the votes for David are winning.
