Title: Mary Howard married 1825 Wickham Skeith

Hi and greetings to all.

I have a Mary Howard who married 1825 as above, to John Berry. In all the censuses 1851,61,81 she says she was born in Cotton about c1806-8.
I have been unable to find her birth/baptism in the Cotton transcripts so I'm wondering if her name has been transcribed correctly. All I have been able to come up with is a Mary Hayward bapt. 19-9-1806 d/o Phillis with father Sam'l Stringer. These two married 2 months later in Nov 1825.

Could anyone with access to the registers please look and see if her name is Howard or Hayward?

The daughter Eleanor Berry is an eight year old on the 1851 census, her possible GRO reference shows:

Berry, Eleanor Skeith Sep 1842 Hartismere Vol 13 p295 mmn Hayward

Thanks for finding Eleanor Berry's birth registration. So I think I am right in my conclusion that the
mmn may have been Hayward. This ties in nicely with other info I have been able to find elsewhere
regarding the mother's birth & marriage.

Also, I think it was on the 1851 census, the is a Haywood family on the same page, maybe a brother?
