Title: Mary Cowling/Nicolson. Did she make 100?
Post by: Brentor boy on Wednesday 27 December 17 13:44 GMT (UK)
The birth of Mary Cowling was registered in Tavistock, Devon,  December quarter 1909.

At the time of the 1939 register she was living in Torquay M B. Her record includes the name Nicholas. In that same year she acted as bridesmaid at my parent's wedding.

Her marriage to Donald Nicolson took place in Dorset in 1944, followed shortly by the birth of two children. I think it is her husband's death on 8 November that was registered in Torbay in 1975.

Some 10/12 years ago I heard that she was still fit and well and thought to have  been anticipating her centuary. Unfortunately our shared relative, who was my informant,  died subsequently and I have no more recent knowledge of her and do not know if she acheived her milestone.

I would most grateful to anyone who can find the record of her death.

Do you mean her married name of Nicolson or is that a third surname?

Where was she living 10/12 years ago?

Have you her exact date of birth from the 1939 register?

I have no greater detail than I have listed ( other than details of her parents and siblings).  I had no real interest in her when I first heard about her.  It has only been stimulated recently when I found out that she was parents' bridesmaid.
