Happy New Year everyone. My great grandfather's sister died in 1908 from 'Decay of?????Can someone decipher the cause of death and was it associated with old age even though she was only in her 50s. Thank you for any information received.

Decay of Nature was on Nancy's father's death certificate when he died in 1885 (100 years of age) and the description of the labouring classes Ive seen on a couple of death certs of children. It may have been a local thing. They were from Kincull - Kinculmagrandel, nr Feeny Co Londonderry. Thanks for the info

Decay of nature? surely old age?

Agreed, i thought that as she was 59 years of age seems a bit young to put that on her death cert. 7 years before in the 1901 census she was working as a seamstress. Thanks for that.
