Hello,
I am trying to track down a baptism for a Charles Henry Cunningham son of Charles Cunningham and Mary nee Kelly (according to marriage/death record and living cousins). All records I currently have for Charles---passenger manifest, naturalization, draft papers, marriage, and death record all lis Charles jr as being born 10 July 1888 in Down. According to family we still have in Ireland, Charles and his siblings: Henry, James, George, Annie and William, were all born in Annalong, Down.
Now the only Charles Henry Cunningham I can find any record regarding baptism is for a Charles Henry Cunningham son of Charles and Mary baptized 14 Dec 1880 Glasdrummond, Lower Mourne, Down. So i wonder if this is my Charles and he lied about his age by 8 years or there is another baptism out there that we're missing.
The odd thing is we can't seem to find baptisms for any of the children, and we know they were very strict Catholics.
Any help in locating Jr's baptism or suggestions on where to look would be appreciated. I do have a marriage record for a Charles Cunningham and Mary Margaret Kelly 1873 Killkeel, Down.
thanks!

Will his birth cert do?
13 July 1888. Number 412
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1888/02509/1930235.pdf
Not registered until the 16 Aug so they may have his birth day out by a few days to avoid a late registration.
Just need to figure out if Mullerton is near where the family are said to have lived
There is a marriage of a Charles Cunningham and a Mary Kelly in 1873

Would that fit with what you know about the family?

Plenty of Cunninghams around there....
irishgenealogy Birth, Marriage and Death results for Cunningham of Kilkeel from 1864 to 1890

I wonder if Mullartown and Mullerton is the same place. Mullartown is very close to Annalong.
Well Annalong is sort of in Mullartown, mostly in the neighbouring townland on the old maps but starting to spill over into Mullartown.

Kilkeel Parish records
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0433
Transcript go up to 1881 so you won't find a baptism for Charles.

Deleted got the incorrect family.

Thank you all! This was perfect. Now I can go on to locating Charles Sr.'s birth.
Does anyone know where I can find the 1851 mullerton census online? I have Jr's application for Ireland, Census Search Forms 1841, 1851 which tells me he was alive and what his mother's maiden name was (Henry and Margaret McConville) but that was in. I'm hoping the actual census will provide more info as civil records appear to only go back to 1864 online and church records for the group are lacking.
Again I appreciate all the help you offered putting me in the correct district name!

Surviving census fragments and substitutes for 1821-51 are a valuable, if limited, resource for the pre-Famine period.

Have you searched Wills?

As for wills, I found a Henry Cunningham died 1916 whose beneficiary/executor is Sarah Cunningham, but when I try to read more from the image, it is incorrect and I can't see his listing. http://www.willcalendars.nationalarchives.ie/search/cwa/details.jsp?id=1639475412 (http://www.willcalendars.nationalarchives.ie/search/cwa/details.jsp?id=1639475412)

Might have been a farmer when he died??

I was able to pull up the civl record and it says only 56. too young to be charles father.
Searching the civil records, assuming he was still in the Kilkeel area, the only possible death for henry I see is 15 Nov 1878---a laborer, but it also says he's a bachelor. All the other's in Kilkeel are too young to be Charles Father.

Father Henry, so this is Charles (the mason's on marriage) application, who gives his occupation on son's Joseph's birth as farmer.

Have a look at Griffith's Valuation for Henry, just for interest sake.
