I am tying to find a death for Eugene but not being very successful possibly due to the fact that spelling is kind of fluid. From various census he was born abt 1889 in New York. He married Martha E Simpson in Manhattan in 1925. The last record that I can find is Eugene and Martha living in Fort Lauderdale in 1955. Martha died 1982 in King Co, NY. There is a death record for an Eugene Prachek 10 Jun 1959 Tacoma Obit Index but I have no idea if my guy or a different person.

Eugene Prechek , who died 10 Jun 1959 in Tacoma , was the son of John Prechek and Susa Fula. He was born in Czechoslovakia in 1900 and is on the 1940 census with wife , Irma , and 3 children , in Tacoma - so not yours I think.

All the above information was easily found on Family Search without any difficulty over spelling of surname.

Thanks. I did not have the 1940 census for Martha and misread the 1955 Ft Lauderdale entry.

Martha's obit states her husband Gene died in 1938. She was buried in Greewood Cemetery in Brooklyn.

Just close the clipped article that someone else has saved and then you pan over to the obit for Martha E. Praschak. She is listed with the other death notice and there is also an obit for her just above the death notice section.

A little more follow up in case you haven't found this yourself. It appears Eugene was also buried in Greenwood Cemetery, but is listed as "Jean", not Eugene/Gene.
