Morning all,
A plea for some assistance if I may.
I've been looking for one of the ancestors for some time. He is the missing link between although I know a lot about him.
John Hugkulstone.
1871 census John is living at No. 6 Little Charlotte Street in St. George's Hanover Square, Westminster aged 52. (placing his DBO abt. 1819). and gives his place of birth as Marylebone.
He is living with his wife Harriett aged 54 from Sussex (I have a lot on her family and ancestors.
Also at the house is his son Henry aged 22 born in Whitechapel. I have this birth certificate.
John's trade was Shoemaker.
I don't seem to be able to find John's birth/baptism/christening.
John married Harriet Knowles in 17 April 1842 at St. Mary's Paddington John's father being John.
On the 1851 census John was 33 and living at 16 Plummers Row Stepney and listed as a Shoe Warehouseman. and again he is listed a Marylebone as place of birth.
I did once make a note of a John's baptism possibly being 1st July 1821 but this being in St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster. *I never got a copy of the entry as I cannot remember where I saw it (a copy of the entry would be great).
John's father (John Sr. for the purposes of clarity) was baptised in Marylebone 10th Jul 1794.
So Any help on John Jr. would be gratefully appreciated.

Looks like it .... the date is the one I had but as it was about 15 years ago I have no paperwork to support it.
John is defo his father and his mother is Suzanna. So yes this is the one.
It's just a little curious that his age on census always puts him more C.1817-1819 so 1821 seemed off.

Sorry forgot to ask ... Does it give his DOB or if any siblings were also christened at the same time ?

Susannah
John
William Edward
That could explain the difference in dates - John was baptised as a toddler rather than as a young baby. No dates of birth unfortunately.

As Groom has said parents John and Susannah, John's occupation Shoemaker

Luxford is the right one her christian name is Ethelinda (gotta love that one).
Valentine Robert as born on 14th February :)
John's father was John born in 1794 and he was married to Susanna Warner.
John's father was also a John and with a Margaret.
So far no idea the most senior John or his marriage to Margaret.
