Hi that record you found for Lydia brown is not my ancestor. my Lydia was born 1865 not 1870 and her mothers maiden name was cuss and not Roder. Thank you for looking
-
I do think it worth keeping a note of Lydia Brown for these reasons.
Ages are not always reliable.
Mother’s name relies on the knowledge of the person giving the information.
I am not sure how clear the writing of ‘Roder’ is but it doesn’t look like the name you have either,
The daughter’s name on census and death certificate is very similar to your Julia’s name.
Here is Lydia in 1900
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M97L-GNR
In this census her age is correct but her daughter is named as Jessie Smith and she is born Massachusetts with a father from Canada ::)
However, the name is also a link.
-
1930 census both women give quite incorrect birth years also year of immigration ::)
It is difficult but I still think they are worth considering.

Here is the marriage of Peleg Brown and Lydia Powell
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N448-JK7
-
yes her birth date looks right on her marriage record. Any signs of her parents death records?
-
Hello,
I can’t see anything but you can check yourself on FS.
They may not have stayed in RI.
If this is Lydia, and it seems to be, I wonder why she and Peleg travelled to marry :-\
It might be worth posting the USA board http://www.rootschat.com/forum/usa/
referencing this thread and the information about Lydia.

Hi Heywood found another possible marriage for Thomas and Mary's daughter
Doras s Powell to Ira O Littlejohn 07 Apr 1890 Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States
-
That looks good. I hadn’t gone back with the family so Dorcas is new. Looks as though she went before the others then.

1900

Looks as though there is a son ??? Powell. There is a published tree with photos. On the tree he is named as Louis C Littlejohn but this 1900 census shows him as Powell.

Another possible marriage Sarah Powell to Thomas Watkins 17 Nov 1874 Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States

Scroll down - number 1399 for Dorcas
This is after her marriage but I wonder if it means Thomas Powell is a member of the Union Church, Newport or Dorcas was previously :-\
-
There is a marriage for Amelia Powell to Matthew Helleur 03 Apr 1880 Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States 26yrs old born 1854 I do have a Amelia jane powell born 1851
