Title: Westmeath Birth of Michael Joseph KIERNAN
Post by: Sbowie70 on Monday 15 January 18 07:15 GMT (UK)
Michael Joseph KIERNAN was born about 1826 - 1828 in Westmeath Ireland.  In 1846 he, along with Michael and Christopher MARTIN were convicted by the Westmeath Special Commission for shooting at Police, and all three were sentenced to transportation to Australia.  I am seeking any information in regards to the birth of Michael Joseph KIERNAN, particularly parents and any siblings.  I am also very interested in the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime.  My great grand mother used to tell stories when I was young about Michael Kiernan coming to Australia as a 'Political prisoner', but alas I was too young to express interest then.

Thank you chinapaddy and Hallmark for your help with the offence.  I am just trying to find his parents and if he had any siblings now.
