That is why I posted a link to all, you might find siblings!!
I could have looked through them but many people like making their own discoveries.
You can also do a Search for Marriages and/or Deaths, just use Surname and Athy as District
-
Within the Search you will see folders for 1800's and 1900's...from there you can select Decades!!

What fun! I have found my G/Gfathers death in 1898, plus births of 5 boys, still looking for another. Cannot get my GGfathers birth or GGmothers death, think 1876. Many thanks for your help

Yes it can be fun finding them....
What you can do for Deaths is just put Surname in, no location, select Deaths and put year range in as they might not have been in Athy..
...or Deaths may not have been registered.

Have you checked the Unknown ones... the Index was used when compiling the records on database, the actual Image of Cert will have first name on them in vast majority of cases.

Think I have found my GGmother's death in 1888, but there are no specific details on the page.
I guess I need the marriage certificate for my GG's so I can find their parents.

Yes, I think I have been on a wild goose chase, unfortunately. My Greatgrandfather Andrew Lawlor states on the 1891 census when living in Surrey that he was born 1865 in Lettonn Ireland. Cannot find this place. Cannot find any trace of his birth, maybe I should be checking out Dublin births? On another census he states born in Raheen Queens. Very confusing.
Thank you everyone for your help, disappointed but shall keep looking for clues.
-
Andrew Lawlor's father was John Lawlor (farmer). On Andrew's marriage certificate in 1890 it is noted John Lawlor, farmer, was deceased. Andrew died in Surrey in 1932.
Have a relative Mary Lawlor, think born 1879, died 1949 in Victoria, Australia, and on her marriage certificate in 1912 in UK her father is noted as John Lawlor, farmer. Wondering if she is Andrew's sister? So many things to match up.

Oh, I really hope that is him, except, is Lettonn likely to be in the Athy region? Also, on his marriage cert. 1890 He said his father John Lawlor was dead, but the John Lawlor in this family in Tankardstown died in 1898. Also Mary Lawlor ..could be a sister, born about 1879 says her father is John, farmer also.
Thanks for your help, but I have doubts now

Yes.... Look at top of Cert page.
Mary Lawlor ..could be a sister, born about 1879...?? What is on her Birth Registration??

You are looking for children of JOHN LAWLOR AND WIFE BRIDGET DELANY
Just a matter of looking at Certs and choosing correct ones without confusing things talking about other Marys etc who are clearly not the children of JOHN LAWLOR AND WIFE BRIDGET DELANY....
-
Thanks, will stay focused on John and Bridget Lawlor and family
-
Still not sure I am following right family of John Lawlor and Bridget Delany. Have by chance made contact with a previously unknown family member who says my Ggrandfather Andrew Lawlor had a sister Mary born 2/12/1862 Maryborough county. Cannot find any record of this. Any ideas ?
-
Look for a Marriage for her or check Church Registers
-
My new relative tells me:
John Lawlor had possible John who had daughter Mary Lawlor born 1879 Maryborough
Then Mary born 1862 Maryborough married Cleall and lived in Dorset
Then Andrew (my ggfather) 1864-1866 Raheen or Lettonn Queens lived in New Malden Surrey
Possibly Catherine born 1868 Raheen Queens died 1957 New Jersey USA
Is Maryborough in Athy region?
I have been following wrong family of John and Bridget Lawlor of Tankardstown, because none if this fits. Cannot find births before 1864, any suggestions? Thanks
