Hi hoping for a little help ,trying to trace Tom Dooley ,wife nelly ,they lived in Stockport but trying to trace where they originated from ,l know they lived there n Portwood and had a son James Edward ,possibly there only child this would be about 1925/30s ,lm hoping maybe a census will give me more info thankyou eda

Yes, there are two births though for Tom Dooley - 1895 and 1900.
When did your Tom die? You might confirm which one he is by his birth/death date.

Thanks jj I've had a look on the free 1881 census I found a Mary Jane hall she was born 1863 she was a tailoress ,which maybe gives me a clue ,,,now I have her mother and fathers names ,the book l have is a kneedlwork instruction book ,so lm hoping its maybe her mothers .clutching at straws maybe ,,thankyou
