Title: Book recommendations please?
Post by: AngelFish on Monday 22 January 18 21:54 GMT (UK)
Hi all

I've had my DNA tested with ancestry and I'm also using GEDmatch.

I know the very basics of genealogy and DNA testing but I really need to learn more - hopefully in a simple way.

I was given a book for Christmas - Genetics for Dummies - but it was more about stem cell research, molecular genetics, behavioural genetics, engineering etc and not what I need.

Can anyone recommend a book that can help me?  It doesn't have to be the newest up-to-date release.

Thanks for any comments.

There is SO much information available on the internet these days, you may not need a book.

I will leave it to someone else to recommend the best websites.  :)

A helpful book with clear explanations is:

by Blaine T. Bettinger; The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy

I borrowed a copy from my library.
