Title: Anne Geyer Amory
Post by: tempogold on Thursday 25 January 18 09:18 GMT (UK)
Hello
Anne Geyer Amory was born according to the 1851 English Census about 1803/6 in Loddiswell Devon.
She marries John Jeffery before 1831 as i think their first child is Sarah Ann Jeffery shown as age 10 on the 1841 Census.
Anne dies Jan 1875 Kingsbridge Devon and her husband I think between 1861-1871 as he is not on the 1871 census. Nor is he with the family on the 1861 return but Anne is shown as a Wife .

Would like to know who the parents of Anne Geyer Amory were . Interesting name and wonder if at some time the family came from Holland.

Appreciate any information . Many thanks

Can't see her baptism http://www.our4bears.net/parishes/Loddiswell/Loddiswell_bap.htm

Maybe you should look around the locality.

What makes you believe that the distance is too great?
Have you checked the surrounding parishes? You have a link provided, all you need to do is click & scroll.

Where have you got her maiden name from?

I see in 1851 (they’re in Aveton Gifford in Kingsbridge RD) there are daughters Mary J, 9, and Emma, 7,

Are these their birth registrations?

Mary Jane Jeffery mmn Jeffery, Sep qtr 1841 Kingsbridge
Emma Jeffery mmn Jeffery, Dec qtr 1843 Kingsbridge

Hi
Original details given by a relative . Beginning to think she may be wrong. The births you mention are correct.
The daughter I was interested in and worked back from was John and Annes daughter Elizabeth Dorothy Jeffrey b 1835 Aveton Gifford, civil parish Loddiswell . She is on the 1851 census as a Servant and not with the family.
I can see Jeffrey was a popular name.
Thank you all
