Need some help please in trying to track Billy.
His was born 1918 Guildford and birth registered as Billy M Avery. The M probably is McClellan which was used for some of his siblings. Parents were Joseph McClellan Avery (1887-1936) and Ada Edmonds(1887-?). Nothing shows up using Billy and too many using William. There does not seem to be a death of the right age for a William 1918-40 so I thought maybe there is a military record but I did not see one.

Are you sure he married Ada Edmonds? There is also this marriage...
Joseph Mcclellan Avery m Martha Wood. 1906 Dorking 2a 359
You said his siblings also had McClellan in there name but most of the Avery births in the GRO for Guildford in the period 1906-1917 that have McClellan in the names have the mmn as Horton or Jupp.
The only births I can find with Edmonds are Ronald 1908, Jack 1910 and Eric 1912.

Maybe he is still alive, celebrating his 100th birthday.
And if he didn't marry (or at least not in England or Wales) then we wont easily find any more about him.

Just posting link to 1911 with children Phyllis, Ronald & Jack

Are you assuming that this death is for the 'Billy' that you are looking for. :-\

Unfortunately no

I can't see another birth that would fit that death as it says he was resident Guildford. :-\
-
I had a look also and there is a good chance that it is Billy M but how to prove it.
-
Wait for the 1921 census and see if he is living with the family :-\

If he is the one that died 1920 - then he wont be on 1921 census :(
But I see what you mean - if your Billy IS with his family, then this death can be ruled out!
-
Yes that is what I meant. ;D ;D
It should also, like the 1911 give numbers of children born of the marriage that are still living/ have died
-
Only four years to go. Hope they were not missed
