Hello,
I've been struggling to find James Toll/Toal (1875-1922) in the 1901 & 1911 Scotland Census. Ive tried a few variants on the surname but nothing yet. He was married to Elizabeth (Lily) Corrigan/Carrigan and they lived in the Shettleston/Parkhead areas of Glasgow.
Thanks in advance

Hi there
Just from the general index on Scotlands People (you need to pay to view the original image with the full details) there is this possible entry for them:
James Toal 30
Lily Toal 30
There are actually twelve Toal adults and children showing under this ref 644/2 40/ 8 in Camlachie (where James and Lily married in 1899).
Other names include:
Hugh 28
Hugh 7
Lily 3
Cristina 1
henry 4
Ellen 9
Robina 24
Christina 30
Maggie 6
William 37

Thank you! I take that is the 1911 Census Entry?

Yes, it is. You will need to check the original image on SP to see how the household(s) are made up as this is just a listing with the same references.

Hi there
James Toal's wife Lily was the youngest sibling of my great grandfather James Carrigan (Corrigan). James Toal died at aged only 44 - What is your connection? I have a fair bit on Lily and their children - and also have death etc of James, - if you are interested.

Hi again,
Just an afterthought - I too struggled and failed to find James Toll or Toal and wife in the 1901 census - discounted quite a few. And also as a point of interest, his wife Lily also varied her first name - went by Elizabeth and also Lily in various documents.
