This is a photo of Thomas Hughes born in Neath in January 1876. He is another one of my husband's great grandfathers.
He married Hannah Davies and had six children one of whom is my husband's maternal grandmother.
His father was William Hughes and mother Mary Hill.
Is anyone able to identify his regiment please? Also which war this is likely to be.
Many thanks

I hadn't realised that I had put the Thomas Hughes photo on before - call it a senior moment rosie99.
However from what was told to me before, I only applied it to Frank Collins (the man with his wife)
My husband wanted to know about the photo of Thomas Hughes as I stated in the original post. (The other photo was Frank Collins - I've put a couple more of him on here recently.)
The photos came from two parts of my husband's family. His mother's line and father's line.
So can anyone confirm the regiment and date of Thomas please? Thank you

Thomas Hughes is also posted on the link that Rosie posted.

Can you put up all of the photo, we might be able to id his Regt. from another man.
All I can tell you at present is that he's wearing the post 1915 economy tunic. So 1916-18.

D/loaded from previous thread to tidy....

Thanks Pat and Handypandy, that is great. He looks much cleaner.
I like the added pipe Handypandy!
I am really grateful for all your hard work.
Sorry Jim1 this is all we have. Obviously tHe family decided to put just Thomas in a frame so ripped the photo.
It is such a shame because I have a photo of my son when he was in the army with his "mates" and I would have never cut him out.

I didn't add the pipe, it was there all the time :)

Well that's something I didn't see on the original!!
Thanks for making it clearer.
I suppose this makes the photo more casual than formal.
Thanks again for all you restorers' hard work.

Only the bottom half of the cap badge is visible but could be another RE man.

Thanks Jim1.
I'll start looking for RE in the Neath area.
I am very grateful.
