I am trying to find a better description of the exact boundaries of the "North Quarter" of Glasgow referred to in a 1780 military muster roll. Any suggestions?

Sorry Monica, I can't seem to open the file. (not sure how to use this file shrinking tool. It's new to me).

No problem! The link worked this time and I just read it. It's a start. Gives me an idea as to the location within the City (never been there, obviously). Thank you.

Rottenrow and Drygate (mentioned in that link) show here in an early maps https://digital.nls.uk/learning/thomas-annan-glasgow/historical-maps/map-gallery/ Left to right, No. 5 is an 1807 north centre map of the City. Just click on any of the maps to see a description and again to view.
Glasgow has lots of maps! These are just some.
Further description for guidance here www.historictownsatlas.org.uk/sites/historictownsatlas/files/atlas/town/glasgow_text_lower_res.pdf., snippet below (page 5).
