Title: 1889 diary p8 giving up cricket
Post by: Deskman on Tuesday 13 February 18 12:45 GMT (UK)
One word has stumped me. Can you help?

'It seems ages since I used to play at Stortford & always got bowled out
directly till in disgust I gave it up & went bathing with old Lewis.
'

Thanks for any fielding of this.

The bold text is thanks to help here.

That's me clean bowled. Thanks Bookbox.

Well done, BB.

I wasn't 100% convinced about "bathing". It's not a typical "b" at the beginning (if, indeed, anything is typical for the writer...  :P). But then I looked back through previous posts and recently there was an example of "beauty" in a text, in which the "b" looked just like this one.

He does like to get our grey cells going...  :)

More, please!  ;D
