Title: Deportation from Inishowen.
Post by: DoireM on Tuesday 13 February 18 13:56 GMT (UK)
I found an article in the local newspaper the Crown Case of Hugh Bradley, a 15 year old found guilty of stealing a knife in 1848.  His sentence was 7 years deportation.  Looking for any advice of were to find information on this lad.  Thank you.

Hi DoireM,

Below is a link to a list of "Convicts from Donegal". Looks like the same person but some difference in the detail. Names in alphabetical order.

I think you mean "transportation", not "deportation".

Those were the days! A free cruise to the sunny shores of the Antipodes, generous food and board included, and all at taxpayers expense!  Can't get a deal like that anymore...
