Title: 1917 Bankruptcy - David John Llewellyn of Cwmcarn
Post by: diplodicus on Wednesday 14 February 18 18:06 GMT (UK)
David John Llewellyn was born about 1870 in Gelligaer, Glamorgan. He married Hannah Llewellyn in Sep 1893 and by 1918 was living at 19 George St. Cwmcarn.  I know of five children.

In my searches I found a London Gazette entry dated 27 July 1917 for "Notice of Dividends"  quoting Newport, Mon No: 4 of 1917. 5s 5d First and Final payable on 31 July 1917.

Can some kind soul point me to the record for the bankruptcy itself?

Many thanks,
Malcolm

Western Mail 11 July 1917

With £126 liabilities, a colliery engine man David John Llewellyn , at Newport Bankruptcy court attributed his failure to high food prices and illness of wife. The examination was closed.
