Title: James Campbell Cameron
Post by: TonyMcGartland on Thursday 15 February 18 20:36 GMT (UK)
When James Campbell Cameron married in 1916 his address was given as 47, Capel Street, Dublin. He was born in Glasgow in 1886 and I have a funny  feeling he served as a soldier in the city during the period of unrest. He is in neither 1901 or 1911 census that I can find so I am assuming he arrived post census. His life has been a real mystery as has he disappearance several years after he married. Are their military records available on line that may show him up.

British Army records are held by the National Archives in Kew, http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/
think most of them are on Ancestry's sister site Fold 3, a lot were lost in WWII.

If he was in a barracks in Ireland at the time of the 1911 census he would only be recorded by his initials.
