This is another photo from Grandparents album. A date would help to narrow down family members. Also is it a studio posed picture? Once again it is a tiny photo possibly cropped from a larger one. I had thought maybe my dad born in 1920 but it looks older to me. Compared to pic of him as a baby I am not sure.

My uneducated estimate would be late war to immediate post war, so could be your dad, I think. But bumping it up the board should attract the experts.

Thank you. Just noticed couple things. The lady seated appears to be wearing a dressing gown and an interesting shoe. If other lady was my grandmother can't make out a wedding ring. I have a pic of Dad aged 3 months and another aged around 15 months don't think he is baby, he was quite cute. The kneeling lady has a look of my grandmother however there is not much face to see.

If you posted a baby photo of your dad Jane maybe we could compare...the baby is looking up so the features will be slightly altered. I don't think Peter is far out with his estimate. A better close up high res scan of the ladies hand may reveal a wedding ring.

JJ, I think that is a dress or a white blouse worn with a pale skirt rather than a dressing gown. I bet it is made from a lovely fabric too.
I think the photo may have been taken a little earlier than 1920.
i don't think it is a studio portrait - the grass and large tree look too real. :)

I agree not a studio photo...it does look in Photoshop like she could be wearing a ring.

Thanks all.
Here are 2 pics of Dad. Born 23 Dec, 1920. First 1921 aged 3 months, second 1922 19 months.
My grandmother is the lady in my previous post at seaside in 1924.
Hope this helps.

Ah, he is so cute JJ!! i couldn't tell you if he is the same baby in photo one though ...
-
I was so like him at similar age to second pic , as was my youngest son and my grandson who is also William. Totally irrelevant I know. I also have look of my grandmother as a young girl. But then also look like maternal grandmother too. So looking for resemblance in pics is hard I think, I see likeness in all pics I have. Perhaps seeing what is not there, lol.

I don't think it is him and photo is older than 1921. Just my opinion.

I think it could well be him...lovely photos...he has the same hairline and is also a lovely baby. Did you read my responses Jane ???

Yes I read your replies that's why I posted pics of Dad at your suggestion. What have missed?
If I have not thanked you or anyone else for comments and help I can assure you it is not intentional. It is appreciated but now I feel yet again I am in the dog house with you.

There is no need for you to take umbrage and you are not in the "doghouse"...you could have overlooked what I said.I just wanted feed back on the wedding ring Jane to help you with your query...It's not too clear but I think I can see one....there is a slight shadow near the knuckle.

..
Sorry Carol x I understand now. I tried enlarging to look for ring but not much definition in picture and was very dark and I enhanced and clarified as much as I could. Scanned higher dpi but got nothing.
This album is so frustrating with few names and dates. I think I am seeing the people I want them to be if you see what I mean. It's nice to have other takes on these pics as I get blinkered at times.

As has been said a late war style but could easily be into the very early 20's. I would suggest 1918-22.

Thank Jim . It is possible it could be dad as date would 1921.

If you look at his hairline at 3 months and in the later one at around 6 months it is very similar and the face shape is also very similar...that's my take on it but the final decision lies with you.

Agree with Carol. The baby really does resemble the other photos you've put up.

Yes Gadget and Carol I would say same as was that my original thought. Will label it highly likely William Jupp Redman 1921 around 6 months with mother and unknown lady.
Thanks to everyone for taking an interest.
I have posted another unknown lady from album
on Sussex board as wasn't sure we're to put it. Taken in 1944 wearing some sort of official chain of office for identification. Just felt it was Sussex based.
Getting on reasonably well with album.

You must feel very lucky Jane to have such a lovely collection of photos. Do bear in mind that some may be family friends.

I am indeed lucky , have so much other stuff as well, letters, documents, marriage, birth and death certs going back to 1820's. .
Yes could be family friends, not sure they had many if any, lol. With grandmother her sisters and family were her friends. As for Grandad, he fell out with everyone even some family members. But not his boys.
