I have the birth certificate of a late friend who was born on 18th January 1928 in Amsterdam. i am trying to establish the address at which he was born -or his parents address there- and am at a loss as to where to start. i have a copy birth document which is simply an extract from the register and I am wondering if there are online censuses for around that time- ow how to find the address of his birth. I am visiting Amsterdam in April- hence the question.
Any guidance or suggestions really appreciated.

Try here: https://archief.amsterdam/indexen/gezinskaarten_1893-1939/zoek/index.nl.html
These are the inhabitants of Amsterdam between 1893-1939. As your friends DOB < 100 years, it is best to look for the parents (any family members will be listed on the same page).
Sylvia
PS if the surnames contain words like de or van, leave them out or put them in "tussenvoegsel".

Thank you- I van see the parents listed on this site but i am attempting to locate which street and number at which they lived in amsterdam.
I can see B J Remmelts is listed (1894) and his wife G Remmelts.
I have been unable to access the flash reader documents on the screen- any ideas please/ So near and yet so far!

On the second page, it seems that the register is changed on 26-6-1925. New address is Admiraal de Ruijterweg 242, 2 hoog (=2 high). As there are no other changes, I would assume that this would have been their residence in 1928.
Note: I don’t know what the abbreviation “L.U.” represents.

That is brilliant- thank you! We are staying very close to VondelPark in April so i will check the addresses out.
Many many thanks
Does it say when they were at these 2 addresses as our friend was born in January 1928
