Title: Surname Interests Section

Hi Everyone

I have just added my surnames that I research into the surnames database.  How long does it take before they appear for others to see?

Can you also tell me how the names appear when you comment on a topic?  I have seen others which lists the surnames that the topic poster is researching.

Hi Girl Guide,

I think you are talking of two different things here.

1) the Surname Interest Table (SIT) is simply a database of surname interests, so researchers can find other same-name researchers more easily. They are immediately visible to others who look in the SIT. They do not automatically appear in your "signature".

2) the "signature" which appears underneath your postings in the forum is not connected to the SIT. You can enter names here by editing your profile.
